Director of Administration

Horizons for Homeless Children (HHC) is a leading non-profit organization in Massachusetts dedicated to providing high-quality programs and services to homeless children and families throughout the state.  HHC is seeking to hire a highly-motivated person looking for a challenging opportunity and eager to play a vital role in an administrative position.  This is a full time, exempt position reporting to the Chief Finance and Administration Officer.  HHC is actively seeking to increase the cultural diversity of its workforce. Overview:
The Director of Administration reports to the CFAO and generally supports all General and Administrative functions, including technology, finance and facilities in support of Horizons for Homeless Children’s mission and goals.
       
Specific responsibilities:

  • Oversee technology function – work with tech support firm to ensure that technology (both hardware and software) are working optimally, review proposals/requests and make recommendations as appropriate
  • Point of contact for all technology issues
  • Liaison with landlords (all locations)
  • Coordinate resolution of various facilities issues, including minor repairs
  • Manage equipment, review new agreements and oversee support
  • Oversee insurance program and obtain certificates of insurance as requested
  • Coordinate records management (both physical and electronic records)
  • Provide support for various finance functions, including data entry and account reconciliation

Required Education, Experience and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years experience working with technology, facilities and finance functions
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, set high standards for accuracy and efficiency, and demonstrate a strong work ethic
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Extremely reliable with confidential, sensitive information
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, high-energy and highly collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of staff
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at once
  • Commitment to and understanding of our mission
