Horizons for Homeless Children (HHC) is an independent, non-profit organization exclusively dedicated to serving homeless children and their families. The Program Coordinator is a new position which will be responsible for providing support to and project management for the Chief of External Programs, including the functions of Training and Technical Assistance and Policy and Advocacy. We are seeking an experienced program administrator to join our dedicated team and make a real difference!
Overview:
The Program Coordinator will support the growth and development of our Training and Technical Assistance Program, which assists providers of services for homeless children and their families across the state, region and nation. The Program Coordinator will also support our Policy and Advocacy Initiative, which seeks to educate policy makers locally and nationally on the crisis of child and family homelessness and thereby reduce and ultimately eliminate the problem.
Specific responsibilities:
- Prepare presentations and support materials, implement marketing strategies, make travel arrangements, and coordinate other logistics.
- Coordinate and manage parts of HHC’s annual National Conference.
- Conduct on-line research, create and maintain databases.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field;
- Two-three years of relevant experience with non-profit or similar organizations that work with underserved groups;
- Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills;
- Detailed oriented and able to meet deadlines;
- Demonstrated ability in meeting project goals and deadlines;
- Proficiency in using MS Office applications.
